I ended up choosing Tufts over Georgeteown for college because I think Tufts is stronger in the sciences and has a 7 year dental program... Was this the right choice?

I'd go to whatever school you felt had the highest academic educational standards. Rankings are only quantitative and don't include quality of research. You wantr to go somewhere that does exciting maybe quarky research. You may not want to go to some institutions because sometimes they are bent on only publishing 'pop research' for publicity sake. Its bnot genuine and usually doesn't benfit the student, but enhances the school and faculty attebtion. Hope that helps making a decision that goes against 'ranking'.

titcr. Research output matters if a) you're looking to do hardcore graduate-level research as an undergrad or b) you're looking to enter a PhD program, not undergrad.

yeah, I liked Tufts a lot better than Georgetown... But georgetown is more well known so I'm not sure if I made the right decision

my kids went to georgetown and i <3 it. however, i think for the direction you are going, tufts is the best choice.

Tufts is a great choice if you are looking forward to picking people´s teeth in seven years. Why not dream a bit more large? And I don´t mean Wall Street.
