Medford resident Michael Beauboeuf will be attending Harvard University in the fall.
The Mystic Valley Regional Charter School senior will be the first graduate of the school to enroll in the prestigious university.
Beauboeuf will be attending Harvard as a winner of a Gates Millennium Scholarship. The Gates scholarships are extraordinarily competitive with over 20,000 very bright students applying each year. The scholarships are given based on academic excellence and community service and can potentially be renewed through a doctorate degree.
He also received a scholarship from the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, where he had worked as a volunteer youth leader throughout his high school career.
While at Mystic Valley, Michael was active in the school newspaper and was the winner of Awards for Excellence in math, biology and Spanish in his junior year as well as being named to the high honor roll.
Beauboeuf lives in Medford with his father Emmanuel, mother Lolita and sister, Elyse, who was a member of the Mystic Valley Class of 2009.
