Also anybreaso to go to and or stay away from would be nice from any current past associates.

Salaries for associates in offices located north of the Ohio river are a bit higher than salaries in KY and TN. As a rising associate, you can expect your salary to increase at least $5K per year. FBT resulted from the merger of a big Cincinnati firm and a big Louisville firm. Right now FBT is at the low end of the market for big law firms in Cincinnati, but it's at the top end in Louisville. FBT does have lower billing requirements than comparable Cincinnati firms, and has very generous benefits (401k match, health ins., etc.).
In Cincinnati, FBT starts out at $100K. The highest paying firm in Cincinnati is Katz Teller at $135K, but most big firms are concentrated around $115K. The environment at FBT is really quite good, so it's a self-selecting bunch who prefer better hours and benefits over higher pay. It's also very doable to make partner at FBT. |
