Subject: Clear Lake High School Alum Alice Wang Receives Perfect SAT Scor

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 16, 2010 – HOUSTON – Clear Lake High School alum Alice Wang always lives her life in balance. She strives to master calculus while learning the traditions of world history. She dedicates herself to her studies and still finds time to relax while playing the piano. It’s also her dedication to balance that allowed her to achieve a rare perfect score on the SAT exam.

“It’s important to practice how to take the exam along with learning the material,” Wang said. “I took a lot of practice tests at Test Masters and that really helped me achieve my score.”

Wang is headed for Harvard in the Fall, planning to major in Economics.

“I love how Economics balances the humanities and math with the scientific process,” the always in balance Wang said. “I plan to go to grad school and someday teach in academia.”

She also plans to help fellow students bridge cultures and bring a better understanding of different people to the world. A world traveler herself, Wang is originally from Beijing and has also lived in Japan and Oklahoma.

“I really appreciate diversity and even took a course studying the different religions of the world,” Wang said. “It allowed me to experience first hand the origins of religion and have a better understanding of the other students in my class.”

As for helping other students prepare for the SAT, her explanation is simple.

“Stay focused when you are preparing for the SAT and do not be discouraged if you do not attain your goal after the first few practices,” Wang said.

Indeed, if NAFCYN had similarly obsessive-compulsive counterparts at the many dozens of other excellent institutions in the country posting every article they could find about their alma maters, it would be a much more balanced board. As it is, it's gotten pretty boring.
