UAF is fine if you plan on staying up there and know some people in the industry, or if you are sure you can dominate on all your grades (many smart people there), so be careful. For some reason there is a surplus of Dartmouth engineering grads around the industry and masters programs up there so you'll be competing with them as well.
And Fairbanks is truly, truly awful. It will get down to -30 in the winter for long stretches, and the cold compounds with the dark to make things truly miserable. But you can look forward to really buggy and hot summers. By the way, there's absolutely nothing to do - the city went through a period where it didn't even have a movie theater. |
