Subject: Advice

Hi,

First time poster, long time lurker. I was wondering if I could get some heart-to-heart, quality advice. I am presently considering to which law schools I should apply this admissions cycle. I am at HYP, GPA: 3.88, LSAT: 177. I know that I should apply throughout the T14, but it has always been my dream to clerk on SCOTUS. With this in mind, would you fine forum-fellows tell me which option would be the best:

(1) Go to HYS, or, if not admitted there, to CCN,do well there and then get to SCOTUS

OR

(2) Go to a TTT (I'm thinking GMU/Creighton here), doing very well, and getting a lock with a clerkship with Clarence Thomas.

I know how very difficult it is to land a SCOTUS clerkship, but I want to be as proactive as I can. Honest advice desired.

Go to Yale; if you don't get in, go to HLS and make sure you are top 3%/Harvard Law Review. If you are honest about your stats you will get one of these two.

I can see the appeal of option (2), but this would be a horrible decision nonetheless. There are a lot of crap schools out there, each of which has a #1 grad. Although it is obviously much easier to be #1 at, say, Creighton, than in the top 20 at YLS or HLS, there is little that distinguishes the #1 grad from different crap schools, which makes it a crap shot (anti-elitist Thomas will not give you bonus points for your HYP undergrad).

And also, what bothered said.
