and i dont rate pc at all in that era. like 10% of 'good' console games were ever ported to PC, and PC had like 1 good native release per year. it was AOE2, red alert 2 and maybe some MMO. |

It had a lot of chaffe, but it also had a lot of legitimately fun games. Even bullshit like Downhill Domination was fun as fuck and never discussed these days and I still play it now. An unreal number of forgotten JRPGs and Schmups. Then it had underrated classics like Ico and Shadow of the Collasus. Then of course MSG2 and MGS3, GTA3 and Vice City and San Andreas, fucking Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 (Kojima BTW).
Then it got down to the $99 Console price that guarantees tens of millions of "excess" sales to Africa and India and Brazil so they can play one Game (mostly FIFA)
PS2 was an unmitigated juggernaut |

I doubt there will be a gen like that again. Dreamcast was quickly discontinued, xbox was brand new, and nintendo made a bunch of mis-steps with the gamecube. Sony absolutely dominated that gen. The PS2 was also a convenient DVD player for many people. |

PS2 had a lot but it basically didn’t have local or online multiplayer. No one played “SOCOM” but everyone knew about Halo. Im the one who’s told you many times that RE4 was a fake exclusive. PS2 had a lot but if it somehow old only like 55m (hypothetically, doodikoff) then the internet Losers wouldn’t laud it as much. Internet posters like winning consoles.
Xbox had a lot that PS2 has no answer to but it was before westerners came to true prominence on consoles, so Morrowind and KOTOR didn’t get the love they deserved.
Shitcube was horrible but you claim to like it and everything it had was exclusive. |
