6 years for contract claims

3 for negligence

2.5 years for med mal

3 years for actions arising out of statute

2 years for wrongful death

What else is there?

The SOL for breach of fiduciary duty claims is more complex. 6 years on any equitable claims arising out of the breach, but 3 years for money damage claims arising out of the breach.

The more egregious bit is med mal has a 2.5 year SOL but legal mal is 3 years. The profession fucks its own kind, but lets doctors off the hook. Also, legal mal cases have funny tolling rules. Its possible for a case to sit undisposed on ecourts for say 15 years and the tolling clock may or may not have even started.

Cali only has 1 year legal mal with fewer tolling rules. Must be an absolute shitshow over there.
