When someone order Cane's via Doordash, that order is not electronically passed to Cane's. A Dasher has to go to Cane's, place the order at the counter/drive thru, and pay with the Doordash Red card.
It could be worse; the service at Cane's is generally pretty speedy. But at most other restaurants there's a pretty high chance that the order is ready by the time a Dasher gets to the restaurant. |

For example I have noticed that with some restaurants, I will never get stacked/doubled up with orders from other restaurants. That will ensure that their customers will get fresher food, but they are going to pay Doordash more for that level of service.
I imagine Cane's is just being cheap and doesn't want to pay for a much of a deal with Doordash. Who knows, they may not have a deal at all with Doordash.
And this all is opaque to the customer. So as far as Cane's is concerned, they're still getting 100% of their Doordash sales vs. paying for a more integrated setup. |
