Gross revenue inched up 2.6 percent in 2011 to $389 million, while the firm's profits per equity partner enjoyed a more substantial jump—rising 11.2 percent to $1.55 million. Revenue per lawyer, meanwhile, rose 4 percent to $900,000.

Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft enjoyed a modest uptick in revenue in 2011, the firm's first burst of top-line growth since 2007, according to The American Lawyer's reporting. The firm's gross revenue increased 4.4 percent to $448.5 million and revenue per lawyer was up nearly 8 percent to $965,000, according to The American Lawyer's reporting.
The firm's revenue growth notwithstanding—and despite a 5 percent decline in the firm's equity partner ranks—profits per equity partner declined slightly last year, from $2.39 million in 2010 to $2.375. White attributes the dip to the firm's "significant investments in people and infrastructure."

Thanks to higher rates and a 5 percent increase in lawyer head count, the firm's gross revenue rose a healthy 8 percent to $1.75 billion last year. Its revenue per lawyer, on the other hand, rose just 3 percent after surging 21 percent in 2010.
Kirkland's profits per equity partner, meanwhile, actually dipped 1 percent to a still-impressive $3.05 million. The drop in profits—about which the firm declined to comment—came a year after Kirkland saw profits climb an eye-popping 23 percent
