Given the stuff i've read, the most likely explanation to me was that DLA tossed this at an associate on partner track, he mailed it in and decided to do a document dump that ended up fucking him in the ass. And yes, I do think DLA would have had these emails on their server. I know my firm would have. So all it would have taken was a doc request with the relevant attorneys' names and dates. I think that's more plausible than one of the recipients, who presumably no longer works there, knowing about the suit and sending these incriminating emails to the plaintiff.
