This will never happen. Every umpire has their own personalized strike zone which adds to the uniqueness of America's past-time. Will we ever see a woman umpire is a better question. Wouldn't surprise me if shitlibs did away with strikes and outs and just turned the game into soccer.

No, by definition stadium designs have to conform with certain standards with ranges smaller than that of the differences between umpire zones.

I can't believe all the weirdos itt.

Oh the horror of having quick, accurate strike zones! It'd ruin the beauty of the game!

the game is slow b/c of all the time between pitches, and this is batters' and pitchers' fault and nothing to do with the umps making calls.

No. Those who say otherwise just don't get it. Spectators tune into sports to live in a kind of alternate reality where you can view a very abbreviated continuum of what life entails, including success, failure, and yes, unfairness, and see how the players react. Taking away the unfairness in the game makes the game less relatable to real life and more like a simple video game, and thus less compelling.

um, tennis has definitely benefited from linescalling technology and eliminating that human element and unfairness. your poast is total bullshit.

Naw, the human element is part of it. The occasional terrible calls notwithstanding, there is something uniquely satisfying about a game where the ump's strike zone may seem a little off but he is consistent about it all game, i.e. "he's giving him the outside corner"
