Working out is secondary. Focus on eating well first.
Biggest mistake is thinking you have to lead this punishing all-out lifestyle just to be healthy. Find foods that are legit healthy (not stupid bullshit like sugary yogurt cups with fruit on the bottom - whole foods, not processed, high protein, low cal, healthy fat, low sugar/carb, etc) and learn which ones you can incorporate into your diet on the reg. Learn to cook lean healthy protein and make that your staple at every meal.
Instead of worrying about working out, just do active shit you enjoy. The trick with all this is finding stuff you enjoy and can sustain over the long run, not something you can force yourself to do for three months where you're on a paranoid and neurotic fitness kick.

my mentality is all fucked up.
my wife has been out of town for the past week. on thurs, i had a big burger and fries. on fri, i had thai food for dinner. on sat, i had indian food. on sunday, i had another burger and few scoops of ice cream.
when im alone - and even when im w the wife - my mind associates good/desirable meals with crap foods such as chick fil a, burgers, pizza, etc. i never *naturally* crave something healthy and low-fat.

It's hard to set a reset button when you have the same routine everyday.
Do something crazy this weekend. I find that when there's a sudden change in lifestyle, it's easy to make other changes to go along with it.

if you overeat just do structured eating for a while that has a calorie deficit, for like say one workweek, then increase your caloric intake a bit, and add in some cardio (you should be active at least 30 minutes a day, but really an hour)
one thing i found huge when i was dieting is, after you eat, before going for seconds or finding an after meal snack, wait 30 minutes, and you'll notice u feel fuller
cut things that add calories to your diet like soda (at the very least replace with diet, but really you should try to drink more water) that don't really satisfy your hunger but add weight.
don't try to do too much at once, you'll quickly burn out.

get up and take whatever caffeine or whatever you need to take, throw a little yogurt or fruit in your stomach to shut it up and get out the door. drink a lot of water, carbonated if the bubbles make you feel more full. you can have a "normal" lunch if you're a lunch person, have a piece of fruit, vegetables, whatever. if you're going to eat bread sparingly now is the time to do it, two normal slices with a sandwich with plenty of meat. lean meat is that good shit.
get those bags of baby carrots at the store and just eat those during the day if you're hungry. they take a while to digest and will make you full as fuck.
for dinner do something centered around meat sans carbs. lots of decent dinner vegetables. You can make a soup with water, no broth, that is full of a shit ton of vegetables and eat as much of it as you want and you'll feel full as fuck. don't eat before bed and don't stay up so fucking late that you get hungry again. drink a shitton of water all day.
really just avoid eating shit. if you had crackers or something during the day before, eat carrots. if you ate a lot of pasta, rice, etc. dinners, switch it to meat + vegetables. you won't really notice the difference after a week and if you go back to eating shit food it probably won't have the same WOW I NEED THIS FAT+GREASE+SALT factor right away again. give up drinking if you're strong enough, it's a major calorie drain. this is the hardest for me but if you go for stretches with no booze you really notice it.

Just work out at home for 10 mins a day. Do bodyweight exercises. You'll feel fitter and more motivated in no time.
Being able to work out wo going to the gym helps a lot at first

Just do Tim Ferriss' Slow-Carb diet, bro.
I was almost concerned by how much weight was coming off.
Never exercised. Never felt overly hungry.
