it is fair to say that you implied that the ability to count cards was an obstacle to "easy money." An impediment or hindrance to achieving or obtaining something with ease is generally regarded as making it more difficult. An impediment or hindrance defined by latent characteristics, such as the concentration required by card counting, is generally described as "difficult."

No, not really. Variance is so high that you need a big bankroll, plus you never really know whether you're actually a winning counter, because even if you are, you might lose for months or years. So even if you are, you might chicken out after losing for a while. And even worse, of course, is if you actually are messing up, but you're overconfident and attribute your losses to variance.
Poker is much easier, and you're doing it with casino consent (although most casinos won't care about counting unless you're blatant or at really high stakes).
Of course, the advantage of blackjack is comps. You can lead a pretty nice lifestyle counting, even without pulling out huge money.

Agreed. Assuming a good run, the social environment of a craps table makes it the best game in the casino.
She is certainly a fickle bitch though. I've played enough to have seen runs where someone (including myself) rolls for like an hour, as well as see the dice get passed around the table with each shooter sevening out almost immediately after setting a point.
One time, this dude gets the dice and rolls a seven on the come out roll. Ok great, everyone gets paid on the line. Then he rolls another seven. Awesome, paid again. He went on to roll like 8 or 9 sevens in a row on the come out, and eveyone was loving it. When he finally set a point, everyone starts putting their money out on the usual bets. I had my chips in hand, about to put my money out when I thought to myself "wait a minute, this guy is really good at rolling sevens." So I just left my passline bet out there and nothing else. Sure enough, he sevens out on the first roll after the point. I know, cool story bro.
The best I've ever done was hit 5 out of 6 points for the fire bet. I rolled for probably around 40 minutes, made a few k, and was a popular dude.

Some casinos use the continuous shuffle machines where they use 6-8 decks but after each hand they put the discarded cards back in the machine.
Some still use the shoe, 6-8 decks and they deal until most of the cards are gone, then reshuffle.
If you are going to count, you can't do it with the continuous shuffle machines, but you can do it with the shoe.
But really, you should just give up on the whole thing, play perfect basic strategy and enjoy yourself.
