they're actually interested in publishing it, if i make some revisions. too bad i already revised and got it published in a better journal in the meantime

should i even bother responding as a professional courtesy? when i last checked in - over a year ago - they promised a decision within 2 weeks.

yeah. the peer review process for law journals is so slow and cumbersome that it makes cutting edge scholarship (as cutting edge as law scholarship can be, at least) difficult. you have to choose between getting out your research before it's outdated and trite or getting published in a publication that matters (as least as far as tenure goes)
