Date: May 20th, 2013 5:57 PM Author: Bipolar round eye chapel took my 1st nbme just now. 4hrs is way too much. it says 238:( i'll try to google incorrect answers. but since the test is in a few days it's obvious I am unlikely to break 250. 250 is about 90%ile. if you cant get that much then choice of residency is very narrow for someone with no social skills or buttkissing skills. i.e. even IM would be difficult in California or Miami.. and I don't think that IM(primary care) is a good choice for someone with no social skills anyway.
and now that I have 3days left I know that I am weak in a lot of areas. just did not have time to finish it all. I did not finish uworld. |

Date: May 20th, 2013 6:14 PM Author: Bipolar round eye chapel I got 2 questions on behavior science wrong. but I did not know those were behavior questions: 1)a girl started working construction, wears a helment, recently exposed to dog allergies, road work allergies, sunlight, and started eating more chocolate. which one of those exacerbates her acne? -my choice chocolate. correct-helmet. never heard of that condition. 2) a 14yo kid got some kind of infection, in pain and withdrawn a lot lately. mom brings him to a doctor. he describes symptoms vaguely. what is most critical to ask? I put orientation to date,place, time. correct is suicide ideation.
I guess the few questions they had about statistics or on ethics I got all those correct. i had much more trouble with various pharm and micro and genetics. |

Date: May 22nd, 2013 8:35 PM Author: Bipolar round eye chapel better. did form15 just now and got 254 at 17wrong. goal is 250.. but sadly I did not feel any different from my 1st test 2days ago when I got 238 (and 26 wrong). %wise it's a very small difference. there were a LOOT of questions where they described an entire paragraph of something very specific but then basically gave out the answer. also some questions of this type: group of man screened for cancer are 48,50,50,50,65,etc find their mean age. yes that's right. about 50% of questions a retarded person could answer. many path questions give the answer in the question stem. but then there are some tough questions. and the only thing tough is whether you memorized this disease or not.
so now I need to go over those 17q that I got wrong. and then need to decide if I should do a uworld on neck anatomy and cancer considering I haven't done any of that. or review a liver test? I know nothing about neck anatomy because it's difficult and I kept postponing and they did not ask any questions on neck anatomy.. and tomorrow I need to choose what to review. I still haven't read any immune in 1st aid or in my lange review book. kept putting it off. and now out of time. but I know I also need to review micro, immune, endo, heart, lungs. damn. it's possible to get 250+ right now assuming they ask those topics that I know. but if they ask a different topic I am screwed. this test has nothing to do with IQ. but it's the only way for me to "shine". |
