Me: 30 years old, JD, Lathamed, working deadend nonprofit now.
I've always wanted to go into academia. That being said, I'm a Polisci shithead and am not stupid enough to double down on that racket.
The only PhDs that have some career prospects for both academia AND private sector (as Plan B) that I'm interested in pursuing are : Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
I've looked into it and it seems like it wouldn't be impossible for me to get into a program but I'd need to probably get a Masters first and do some serious math work.
Tips/ advice? Bad idea?
