I have seen a lot of State-level prosecutors go Fed, but it was because they had connections to that district and they knew someone on the inside who could pass along their resume.

I doubt you can just JUMP to a Fed's office considering how competitive it is. You'll have to build up the necessary experience first.

yes. it doesn't need to be a strong connection, you just need your resume to skip the USAJOBS pile. the employee will most likely help you out if you ask, because it's easier and faster than sending you a rejection.

i would think such experience would be pretty portable to a USAO
