Some people can bypass the first stage (written exam stage) while others don't. But I thought everyone who made it to the finals had to go through multiple stages of interviews, some group-based and others individual.
Even when I applied after college they were asking me about my SAT scores from years ago. I don't know if SAT scores are an auto-weeder but i don't think you can be a dumbass, luck your way into med school and get a McKinsey interview, but I may be wrong.

Doing non-medical shit with a MD degree sounds unprestigious to me. My impression is that most MDs that go into MBB skip residential training, they are not licensed to practice medicine. MBB compensation is attractive when compared to residency, but far inferior when compared to the income of an attending or a doctor in successful private practice. Many MDs act in consulting roles, but that's in addition to their active practice or research.
That being said, I don't think any MD can just walk into MBB and land a job. |
