i believe the board consensus, to the extent one was reached following many MANY discussions on this topic, was a hondo per year you've been at the firm. first year = 100, 2nd year = 200, etc.
tbf, a secretary would have to be pretty fucking good to get more than 300 from me.

It really should depend on your level of seniority and how often you use the secretary/her performance. But whoever is saying $100 per class year is full of shit - you won't find any associate giving their secretary $500+ bonuses.
I've also given individual gifts to paralegals, and our firm also organizes bonuses for support staff and all the associates are supposed to contribute something like $20-$50 to that pot.
