I basically started doing four things that got me amazing results:
1. Running often.
2. Eating LOADS of vegs (esp. spinach, carrots, tomatoes, etc)
3. Reducing food amounts and eliminating sugar and refined flour (or eating them only once a month or so.)
4. Drinking loads of water.
I saw no results in a very long time. But after a very long time, I literally dropped to the bones and now sometimes I eat like a freaking pig, and keep losing. Weird shit, bro. You can change you're body chemistry by doing all of the above, constantly, for a very long time.

Only one way to lose weight: count calories. Get some app that does it for you, and don't cheat. You'll still work out because that let's you eat more and still be ok.
All these fad diets or eating specific types of food - 100% of it is either bs or unsustainable. If calories in - calories out = a decent-sized negative number over enough weeks, you will lose weight. It's that simple.

naturally skinny bro with high metabolism here too. got a gut after eating out a lot. here are the big things i notice help me cut weight quick.
1. Sweat a lot. I don't run because it's a pain in the ass and boring. Instead, I play sports so this isn't a problem.
2. Drink a lot of water. This helps with sweating, fills you up, and keeps you hydrated. The corollary to this is to avoid sugary drinks at all costs including most juices and bullshit "diet" drinks. Drink water only. Cut out alcohol too. Exception to juice is if you have a juicer and through your own veggies and fruits in there.
3. Avoid carbs. This is obvious. Switch to protein. If you need to snack on something, snack on unsalted nuts, eggs, healthy trailmix, shit like that.

as some others have noted, running 10 miles over 6 days is not enough to produce results for a grown man. if you were a 5'4" female, then maybe.
that's less than 2 miles average per workout... even running a lethargic 10 minute mile, that's like an 18 minute workout.
it's not enough. it's a start. but no enough. you must do more to get results. as another poster said, at least 3 miles per workout. up your mileage. try to do at least 15+ miles per week. you have to push yourself to see results.

aside from genetics, muscle is the key to high metabolism. fuck cardio; for 99% of people it is unsustainable. and it doesn't burn shit for calories. and then as soon as you stop running consistently, your body goes back to its same old shit routine.
get into a lifting routine, build up some muscle, and let your body work for you. i did this in hs, haven't really lifted since, and am still reaping the high-metabolism benefits 10 years later although part is genetic

Just cut carbs as much as possible (less than 50g a day ideally), and do this consistently for weeks. One day of lots of carbs every one or two weeks (or better, when you start feeling sluggish and truly drained), for that leptin reset and to nourish your muscles.
You need to read Taubes' "Why We Get Fat", read some Mark Sisson, and understand the following:
1. lots of cardio is not efficient for weight loss and is only worthwhile if you don't care about muscle loss and are training for an endurance event.
2. related to (1), chronic intense cardio is unnecessary. a few good sprints a week and just consistent low-intensity cardio (walking, not sitting too much) coupled with heavy lifting 2-3x a week (squats, pullups, some abs, bench press) is what you need to do.
3. intermittent fasting.
4. ketosis.
5. get lots of rest and sleep regularly and avoid stress. if you don't do this, you will be cortisol-fucked. i repeat, rest regularly and keep stress down or you will be cortisol-fucked.

jogging doesn't raise ur metabolism, at least after you're not jogging
if you want to raise ur metabolism "permanently", you gotta do high intensity explosive exercises
jogging just burns fat while ur running, and it doesn't burn fat that effectively. it also burns muscle too. more than anything, it just causes epic loss of water weight
