I run a firm with 2 associates and I'm trying to hire a third, and the idea of hiring a dude with T10 credentials who showed up to work and turned out to have a 14x-LSAT intellect is horrifying. Honestly it'd be made worse by the fact that he's black, in the sense that my law partners would never agree to fire him just for lack of intelligence if he showed up during business hours and didn't grope the secretaries.
It's *got* to be biglaw that absorbs these people. That's the job they want, and it should be some "partner" at a place with 400 lawyers who hires this guy, confident he'll never have to work with him and that any impact to the firm's bottom line will be marginal all things considered. |
