They also found him dead with his body blocking the door on the way into the bathroom. So, it's still possible someone killed him, but if so they must have injured him badly, and then after they left the bathroom he crawled to where he blocked the door. Also, he was doing lots of weird s*** with the plumbing in the room, which implies who is in some sort of weird paranoid state, or possibly trying to get at drugs. He flushed down the drain.
Overall, if I had to bet, it was an accidental death related to drug use, or full-on suicide.
