a lot of people were shocked when an AI program fed with patients' x-rays was able to accurately identify like 99% of the patients' self-declared racial identities.

now we're seeing AI accurately diagnose 9 types of dementia from a standard brain scan.

so there is a lot of great medicine coming and potentially a lot of biological realism.

Both of these "diagnoses" seem retarded. Does anyone go to a doctor to find out their racial identity? Or does it really matter what type of dementia they have? Once you have it there is generally no reversal.

?

i'm pointing out the astounding analytical power of AI which is still in its infancy.

AI is going to change healthcare in ways we can only begin to fathom. The day is coming when an AI scan of a healthy 25 year old can accurately predict his lifespan and what he will likely die of. Which means people will approach life knowing exactly when/how they will die and make plans accordingly. Of course it doesn't rule out accidents and tragedies but imagine a world where you know absent a car accident you'll live to be 93 years old and die in your sleep or develop Parkinsons and linger for 10 years in senility before slobbering off one night. And you know this 70 years in advance.
