They need the lightweight oils because manufacturing tolerances are tighter as manufacturers try to squeeze more power out of tiny fuel efficient engines. This is causing metal to shave off and destroy engines in Hondas and Toyotas now. Since 2017 engine reliability has tanked. The turbos make it worse by adding pressure and heat
