so in preparation for applying to IR masters programs, I took a macroecon course at USDA in DC. It was the worst academic experience of my life--professor had unclear take home exams, wouldn't answer questions by email, etc.--and I was running between an 89-90.
I finally got my grade and it's a "B" (USDA doesn't do pluses or minuses). I was the type of candidate for these programs who was stronger on the academic side (3.8 GPA, good languages, 760 quantitative GRE score, academic awards) than on the work experience side (but was planning on combining the two), but this is obviously not positive.
While at USDA I met a ppl who had gotten into good programs and were accepted without taking the econ pre reqs (and only had to take them after). I probably should have done that, but anybody have any ideas of what I should now? Try to get in without taking micro? Take micro somewhere else to "prove" I can do econ? Take more than just micro or even take macro again?
