Subject: Chicago GSB: Full-time research assistant position

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as our full-time research assistant for one year beginning in the summer of 2008. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects in industrial organization and political economy, with a focus on media industries. Previous holders of this position have gone on to PhD. programs at the University of Chicago and Harvard University.

The ideal candidate will: (i) have a strong quantitative background; (ii) have strong computer skills including programming; (iii) be able to work independently to solve problems; (iv) be able to direct a team of undergraduate research assistants; and (iv) have a long-term interest in pursuing research in economics. Background in economics is a plus, but not necessary – we welcome candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to economics.

If interested, please send a CV, list of undergraduate courses taken and grades received, and a cover letter briefly describing your career/study goals by e-mail to Joyce Van Grondelle (joyce@chicagogsb.edu).
