Hi

I am an international student intending to pursuing an MA in IR. I have received admits from Elliott, SIS, UCSD (no aid), Bush School- Texas A&M(30% aid), and Monterey (40% aid).

Keeping the curriculum and course content aside, since each school has something different to offer my interests, I would welcome any suggestions on choosing one of these.

I am slightly inclined towards,

Elliott: Even without the financial aid!

Texas A&M: Very cheap!

Thanks in advance.

I suppose it would depend on which sub-field of IR you're looking into. UCSD is great for Asian/Pacific Rim studies, but somewhat lacking in other areas. I'm currently doing a grad certificate program through the Bush School, and they're very good. Cheap is also a big plus. For the fall I got into Elliott, Walsh, Monterey, and the Ford School at UMich. I visited them all recently, and the Elliott School was the best choice for me. Just accepted their offer of admission the other day. The facilities and faculty they have there are very impressive. Plus the location is top notch. Before visiting Washington last week, I was leaning strongly towards the Walsh School at Georgetown. After visiting both, I was convinced that GW - Elliott would be the better option. Different schools work for different people though. Just my two cents.
