I've only taken the calculus sequence, so I'll need to take a bunch more math to apply. Unfortunately, I work in a small town where there's no nearby university that offers those classes in the evening. My job pays well, and I'd rather not quit until I start my Phd. Is there any way I could get these out of the way online? Obviously University of Phoenix or whatever will be a black mark, but I'm wondering if there's something reputable.

Stanford EPGY (Google it) allows adult to take upper division Stanford math coursers online. Very solid program; and no, don't have to be a talented high school student. MS students in engineering take the courses for remediation.

Subject: age cap

What is the age cap for taking a remediation course through EPGY?

According to Marc Sanders, the online point of contact, no age limit as far as I know. There is also a netmath program offered by University of Illinois and a program via Wisconsin extension.

That said, Stanford is cheap and very reputable by way of quality. A handful of the upper division courses are only offered pass / fail, which can also be of assitance if you are worry about making less than an A but still need to traverse the material.
