Subject: Rate my chances in getting these MBA programs

Graduated from a state university in the midwest, and have been working at an insurance firm (Manulife) as an actuary for a year after my college graduation.

Interned at H&R Block and Standard & Poor's during my college years. GPA is mediocre (3.05 GPA, Finance major and Math minor), now doing practice GMAT tests and have consistently scored above 760.

Do you guys think I have a shot at UMich, NYU, UVA and UC Berkeley? And any ideas on improving my chances in getting into one of these programs? Thanks.

This blog is for those interested in pursuing a degree in international relations. If you have a question on admissions, why don't you go to the homepages of those universities and research the class profile.

Anyways, why would you want to ask strangers to rate your chances for admissions. I do not think that is wise.

Where does it say "international relations blog"?

There are questions about GMAT and other non international relations programs.

If you don't think it is wise to ask strangers to rate their changes, then why do you care to give strangers spiteful comments?

Your GPA is quite low... but a 760 GMAT score might leverage it out a bit.

Do you speak any languages? Have any international experience?

Nothing screams "unique" or "standout" about your profile stats... save for your high GMAT score. Plus you've only been out of school for a year? Most programs want some more solid business background before biz school.
