Subject: SAIS Bologna vs SIPA

Any thoughts about the advantages of SAIS Bologna vs SIPA? I was first admitted to SAIS Bologna and placed my deposit, but am revisiting that decision after getting into SIPA off the waitlist. I am interested in political risk for businesses, international institutions, and American foreign policy. Both schools seem to prepare students very well with the emphasis on economics. The advantages of NYC are obvious. However, SAIS is known for a fiercely loyal alumni network across the globe. Also, a first year in Bologna is such a unique opportunity. Any thoughts on the advantages of one school over the other?

Eh, two good programs there - if it were me it'd just come down to what was going to cost me less in the end.

What's cost of living in Bologna like compared to NYC? Scholarships anywhere? Those are the questions you should be asking.

if you are thinking of going private, i.e. political risk consulting, then SIPA would be a better bet. their program is MUCH more flexible in terms of the course you can take. SAIS' heavy focus on econ is great, but it doesnt give you much flexibility

Good luck finding one of the two entry level political risk consulting jobs that exist in this economic environment
