I'm planning on applying for Fall 2011 but would like some advice now on my stats for these schools.

UC Berkeley (MPP)

UCLA (MPP)

USC (MPP)

GWU (MPP)

UMD (MPP)

UW - Evans (MPA)

Here are my stats:

Undergraduate institution: Top 50

Undergraduate GPA: 3.7

Undergraduate Majors: Political Science, Psychology

(I am not published.I have taken intro to stats but I don't have any econ or any other math classes on my transcript. I am currently taking Intros to micro and macro. I worked as a research assistant but it was more cognitive focused.)

GRE: haven't taken them yet but practice scores show around high 600s. Hoping to break 700 on the quant.

Years of Work Experience: 4; AmeriCorps (2 years), Peace Corps (2 years)

Other: "Proficient" (not fluent) in Spanish and spoken Arabic.

if you get a really high GRE score and good recc's, you have a solid chance at most of those places. just write good essays.

ideally, your work experience should directly relate to the policy area you're interested in pursuing.
