"613" is kinda autistic really. Like God says, "don't ignore widows" and Jews ignore God, so then God pwns the Jews. Next thing the fear of God manifests in the rule of giving $ to widows, even if the widow is rich and there is a person in real need right next to her. Rinse, repeat.
Then Jews look at it and say, that's ridiculous, I reject this, and live the life of sin.
Jesus's message is a lot more coherent and goes to the root of reality behind "613". |

even some mitzvahs seem practical and we can try to come up with reasons why we THINK god wants us to do them, but we dont truly know. a classic example of this is keeping kosher. the real reason to keep kosher is bc god commanded it, and anything about health/sanitation is possible but we dont really know why god doesnt want us to eat pigs. |
