1. Whitelists usually guarantee a large number of participants, while helping to avoid frenetic contributions and large whale contributors/ market manipulation. The "whitelisted" participants here were not guaranteed participation and had to proceed in such a manner. Hopefully the Eth that was not accepted will be returned.
2. There was little to no communication about the process. No social media presence, a notable scam being run on twitter which raised a lot of eth and could have been eliminated if there was better communication.
It's clear that pre-sale syndicates have a lot of LINK and will be able to manipulate this market if they choose to do so. I predict since there was such a low public non-presale cap, there will be a YUGE spike in the LINK price when it's released on liqui and/or bittrex, followed by a huge plummeting of the price.
The organization of this ICO is not a good sign for the long term success of the project. Sure, it can still be successful, and thy could have been focusing on their product etc, but it also shows us that 1. The founders/advisors didn't give a shit about consumers and token holders because they would get their money anyway, and 2. That they may lnot care about the long term success of the project. Why not hire someone for a few weeks and let them handle communication during the ICO?
It's also unclear what the strength of their partnerships with organizations such as SWIFT actually are, and upon reading some materials they have published things seem intentionally opaque. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. |
