Don't forget that in addition to the "fee," you'll pay even more by getting a shitty fill price on your order that might tack on another percent.
On GDAX you can trade with no fee if you make a limit order and it gets filled. In practice this makes the fee function as the market spread, and buy and sell orders will be a penny apart unless the market is volatile. It's good for accumulating on low limit buys, but the fees are too high for active trading where you will sometimes need market orders.
