Metamask is a wallet where you control your private keys so yes. ED can't see your private keys

There was that javascript hack that was used to read the keys out of the browser and send them to the hacker and he drained your wallet while you were sitting there. I used a different browser that didn't have metamask and went to mew and sent my metamask stuff to a wallet that had never been loaded into metamask for peace of mind.

Wasn't this because people went to the wrong url? I don't know how Javascript code could read your private key even in this case

the url took you to an unlisted custom contract and he made part of the contract name the javascript that ran when the contract name was displayed on the page. the browser sees your keys and the script sent him whatever keys were in use by the browser and he unlocked the wallets

I used metamask to fund my ED smart wallet and withdrew my tokens back to metamask. Then I opened my metamask wallet in mew and sent my tokens to a new clean mew wallet just to be safe.
