Why would the government shutting down cause people to buy more crypto? Not saying crypto won't rise during the shutdown (it tends to rise alot anyways), I'm just not sure how one would directly effect the other.

Increased fear over the govt's ability to function in a way that supports a major fiat currency. Isn't this the whole point of crypto, other than mindlessly shilling coins on social media.

Yea I guess so, but I'm not sure how much this would drive people to seriously take their money out of USD. Most people remember the last shutdown a few years ago, and consider it stupid political grandstanding. If the government stays shutdown for 6+ months, that is another story.

So if the government shuts down tonight at midnight, tomorrow you are going to put $20,000 into the crypto market due to fear of the "government's ability to function"?

Crypto is the last place on earth I'd put money if I were worried about societal stability. It is completely useless in the real world, and fluctuates wildly for no reason at all.

No one investing in crypto is thinking, "Well the US may not pay their debt! Time to buy more VeChain!"

What would compel a South Korean to buy Bitcoin due to the government of the United States shutting down?

Are these all American buyers pumping the price of crypto right now?

In times of fear, people generally do not flock to extremely risky and volatile investments, but tally-ho brother.

I'm not suggesting every American is going to dump their bank account into crypto and start pushing Burger King to accept LTC..But the less trust people have in government in general, the stronger the argument for crypto

government shuts down all the time. what's most infuriating is that the shutdown is a paid vacation for federal workers. jesus our government sucks.
