None of the candidates are really viable anyway. They all have major major flaws. Santorum appeals to the extreme part of the republican base. He is the perfect candidate for the people making the decisions backstage but not for most of America. |

If you are pro-choice, and you don't like Santorum because he is not pro-choice, then just say it. That's reason enough not to vote for him. But he is not "crazy" just because he doesn't believe every little thing your college professors told you to believe. |

Religious people tend to be happier and less stressed, they have more stable relationships, they donate more to both religious and non-religious charities and they are less likely to commit crimes and go to jail. Maybe they are just deluding themselves into believing something that allows them to resist certain self-destructive urges, but I wouldn't consider that "crazy." It's probably more accurate to say that they are subconsciously suppressing cognitive dissonance. But that involves a lot of mental energy that is inconsistent with true "craziness" such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. |
