i just bought kaplan bio mcat review and i have been studying it non-stop. my bio 2 prof was really old and senile and we didn't get through the entire syllabus so i am learning some stuff for the first time like embryology :(
most of the time i think i want to be a clinician... im interested in hiv so maybe infectious disease. you can also do allergy/immunology for hiv work i believe. or maybe id do ob/gyn.
policy work, like working for the cdc or something also sounds really interesting, but i dont know how you get into that. |

It appears to me that BS is one of those "van wilder" types, only not very charming and lacking any real campus prestige or social status. She is petrified of the "real world." She would rather live in a bubble with the big dreams of prestige most of us here have achieved or are solidly on our way to achieving.
The difference between BS and the common poaster, of course, is that most of us actually try to achieve our goals. BS is content to sit all day at her computer on xo, or perhaps out somewhere pissing away time with some of her girlfriends. She spends her hours daydreaming and hypothesizing, mentally spending the millions she will never actually earn.
She believes the copious idle time she wastes is on par with the effort those of us who work endless hours building wealth and prestige put into our lives. She thinks her imaginary bucks will just fall out of the sky as long as she shows enough millenial passion for whatever asinine career du jour pops into her head.
My advice to you, bluesmoke: get an Indian sidekick as fast as you can. You aren't ever getting a real job like the rest of us, so you may as well try and emulate a fictional character who did your type of wasted life up right. |

when a pumo just says something like "you're ugly" or "you're a loser" and leaves it at that, there isn't much i can say about them. if it were a poster with known history on the board you could say "well at least my girlfriend didn't cheat on me" or "at least i haven't been unemployed for two years" (or whatever). with pumos you can only really attack what they're saying and why they're saying it. luckily most of the people who go after me hardcore can't stop themselves from sounding bizarre in their posts. |

im not really a big fan of attacking people in any case. i do it to the people who attack me repeatedly, but in general it just strikes me as weird to megapost about other posters and why their lives suck. the people who are the quickest to put others down often have low self-esteem and try to make themselves feel better by proving that others are "worse" than them. the posters who seem the happiest are never the ones making threads about other posters being ugly or penning long posts detailing posters' life failures. just my observations... |
