When I was an undergrad I got busted for tagging my neighbor's house with gang symbols. At the police station, the officer told me my neighbor probably wouldn't press charges if I wrote a letter of apology. I just wanted to make the whole thing go away, so I wrote the letter. But instead the police gave the letter to the prosecutor, who used it against me at trial, and I was found guilty.

Can I get my conviction expunged on grounds of police misconduct? I'm afraid law schools might reject my application, and this is the only thing on my "rap sheet."
