I went to private schools growing up and had a lot of exposure to private school teaching jobs. No certification - private school - I will almost certainly never teach public.

even in shitty states the benefits from a teaching job are worth around 25k, or even more if you have a family. thus u only need about 45k in salary to hit 70k. check out utah, for example, http://www.utahsright.com/. i looked up a friend who is in 4th yr, lists them at 80k all in, and utah is known to be a shitty state for teacher pay. i can't imagine what the #s are like in states like california

private HS by a lot. any decent college will require a doctorate. the best way to get hired by a private high school in a given area is to start talking to administrators at the private schools in the area (assuming you have decent academic credentials and can present yourself reasonably well).
