I've been posting here for some time and have noticed some trends. The major points:

1.) Extreme risk-aversion. On XOXO, lower T-14 at full ride >>>>>>>> HLS at sticker. Who cares if you have a massively greater chance to end up in 40k shitlaw or mediocre biglaw, which will significantly affect your lifetime earning potential? You'll still have no debt, right?

2.) Extreme glorification of lifestyle over money. On XOXO, 100k working 9-4 is the "credited path." :/ This is inexcusable.

3.) Complete and utter pessimism in general. While I do excuse some of it on the basis that many people here may be high-caliber but got fucked over by ITE, there is definitely a limit. It really does seem that the majority of people here are low-caliber TTTers.

There are still some high-caliber people on here, no doubt. And I'm sure XOXO wasn't always like this. Maybe the glory days will one day return?

not sure i agree with 2, though (or 1 for that matter): why is "extreme glorification of lifestyle over money" a bad thing? if you prioritize money, that's fine, live your way; those who prioritize lifestyle over money (btw what do you want money for anyways if not ease of lifestyle) can live their way. why does it anger you as an attitude?

There is nothing wrong with wanting 2). It just isn't prestigious, is all. But not everyone wants prestige.

the upper orders are always past-oriented, nostalgic, ill at ease before the contemporary and pessimistic before the future. this is why they major in the arts or humanities, because these disciplines are past-oriented, and breed only elegiac emotions.

futurism and "progress" are for lower class people.

i dont see what the problem is with #2. some people value lifestyle over money. frankly, if money is your focus, you're likely prole and stupid for not pursuing a better way of making money.
