from my experience, the best paying are tech companies in SV. for 5th year level, it ranged from $145-165k for the positions i've interviewed at.
low end is LA entertainment (ranging from $125-150k) for 5th-6th year mid-level associate.
i've not interviewed at any finance-type place, which i imagine may pay more, but not like there's much finance out here in CA. |

there's not as much need for m&a, securities, compliance, public company experience etc. but a ton more need for licensing, distribution, privacy experience etc. |
