No, it was a WAIS test re. Testing if I had a learning disability. Not a typical IQ test- didn't have logic patterns or written math questions like on the LSAT/SAT. So I'm hesitant to call it an IQ test- more so test for learning skills idk.

? No I'm not. It wasn't a traditional IQ test by any means. There wasn't even a single score for verbal vs. spatial IQ so idk. On the whole, my verbal skills were in superior range but everything else average except for spatial skills which were much below. And I'm not Julia- I did this test bc I'm thinking of applying for add'l time on bar exam but need documentation.

Ok well then I have avg IQ.. I just don't think it was the best test. It was entirely oral when I'm better with written tests for instance. I highly question the reliability. Either way, I think my processing skills are shit and don't know if I should retire from law before I even start.

No. My processing speed was actually 66th percentile tho, I believe. I don't have the test with me at the moment but just speculating how screwed I am..I'm trying to improve it & memory skills with online game stuff..but I hate most of them. Ie. Luminosity.com.

i'm still debating whether you're flame. anyone taking the WAIS will get the overall score back in the form of an IQ score, and therefore know that it's an IQ test.

anyways, what's more important at this point is how fast you read. do you read fast?

They didn't give me an overall IQ score, just said I have an average IQ, and that scores are on a range...maybe my score is low and they didn't want to give it to me for a reason...testing for LDs may be different than typical IQ testing for kids, ie. those tests given in elementary schools.

Edit: I do read fast but processing what I read is a different story..bit slower rate. Im not sure if using adderall would help with that; I get overwhelmed with large amounts of data, need a lot of time and breaks.

testing for learning disorders is done by giving you a standard IQ test. since they didn't give you your sub-scores it's basically useless as far as getting xo to diagnose you goes.

do one of those reading speed tests online and report back.

Also re. reading, see my edit above. I think my reading speed was like 94th % or around there but retention of what I read was low (maybe 70th%, forget the score..) With extra time it was higher.

The WAIS is perhaps the most commonly administered IQ test, and there is no written component. It is a very good measure of intelligence, and an useful indicator of learning impediments/cognitive damage.

The newest version does not offer a "Verbal" vs "Performance" IQ -- just an overall IQ score, with sub-test raw scores.

Yeah they didn't give me my overall IQ score. I have a feeling it's because my spatial scores were so low and a few scores on other indicators were problematic bc I just stopped trying so they didn't integrate those scores. They just said I'm of "avg intelligence.'

processing's important. when I'm writing a memo and I'm looking for cases in a circuit that have what I want, I'll read through 200 cases citing supreme court case x in a few hours. shit would take forever if I couldn't do that
