Credited. The Vertu is a fucking Nokia, Apple is the high end these days. Most people, even rich ones don't want to spend 5 figures on a phone, even ones who do can get a gold/diamond encrusted iPhone.

I never said such. You obviously didn't read my statement. What part do you disagree with? That the Vertu is a Nokia (its even owned by them and runs on the symbian OS) or Apple is pretty dominant in the high end of market (look at the numbers for yourself).

The Chinese investor I worked for had one of those. I didn't know WTF it was until I wikipedia'd it. It's like a $10k hooker, the product exists to simply be able to say you CAN pay $10k for a phone.

On a related issue, who else thinks the iPhone has lost any cool factor it once had? The last three cabbies I had were talking on iPhones. My cleaning lady has one. I realize it's still best-in-class technology, but it used to be something to brag about. I think there is a market opening for a prestige phone, but Apple itself needs to fill it somehow. iPhone Jungle Cat!
