For the idiots who still don't know what Obamacare is, it mandates that the premiums of the young and healthy cannot cost too much less than olds and sicks. The actuarial risk-based cost of insurance for a young health person is cheap. For example I had insurance for 38 dollars a month that covered everything 100% after a somewhat high deductible. This is now outlawed. You will be paying probably over $6k a year right out of your own pocket, just so that olds can pay less. |

Before obamacare: no ins for students/youngs, lots of medicare for olds, and a political culture that says HEY MEDICARE PART D!!!!!
After obamacare: guaranteed insurance until 26 unless your parents are uberpoor, some reduction in medicare benefits for olds, and a political culture that's finally discussing not using extreme measures to extend life only a couple days. |

There was no insurance for students and youngs before? How stupid are you? I had a plan for 38 dollars a month as a young student. That will now be outlawed by Obamacare. |

The average premium was already fucking 4800 in 2009, and it's rising every year, dickwad. 5,800 would actually indicate an increase rate lower than the one occurred in the 2000's.

Don't buy insurance. Don't pay the penalty (gov't has no way to enforce it) If I ever get cancer or a serious injury or something like that, purchase insurance on the way to the hospital (insurers can't deny it based on preexisting condition)

My mother worked for the Fed Gov't so her insurance plan allowed me to stay on until I was 24.
GUESS WHAT?
My premium JUMPED THE FUCK UP when I hit 21 to the point that my mother couldn't afford to keep me on her policy.
I had to go get my own shit.
Now please tell me, under ObamaCare how fucking much will it cost to keep a grown-fucking-adult on their parents' policy until they are 26? |
