yes exactly. the real mbe questions were harder -- granted that i passed on my first try and that i finished both sections right on time.
but barbri's questions are just different. i cant describe how or why. but they are different. i think the actual mbe throws in more confusing facts to throw you off.

First time I didn't study for MPRE: 70
After taking 4 practice tests from Barbri: 135
I was getting maybe 2/3 of the questions right on the practice tests before the retake. But I think a 135 (out of 150) is a handful of questions wrong.
Barbri did a good job for the MPRE. Hopefully, it does as good a job for the MBE.

iirc barbri's questions are very longwinded whereas the real questions are much shorter and to the point. i'm not sure which i'd say were more difficult though. i think barbri just makes complicated fact patterns so that you get in the habit of reading very carefully, but the real questions still manage to test minutiae.

i had never seen an MBE question in my life until 2 weeks before the exam. did 4-5 barbri sets for each mbe topic and passed with room to spare. barbri set 6's are bullshit, but i felt that 1-4 (and i guess, to an extent, 5) were pretty realistic in difficulty, though the barbri q's took up half a page, the real mbe q's were like 3-4 sentences

The hardest MBE questions were harder than the hardest BarBri ones. Look up the thread from last summer after the MBE day. People were debating individual questions, some of which they never came to a conclusion on.
However, the MBE gimmies were easier (and more plentiful) than the BarBri ones.

Here's how the MBE went for me. About 5-10% of the questions were on random shit that Barbri didn't discuss, and I wouldn't have known those answers if I studied for an extra couple months. For about 40-45% of the questions I was very confident I knew the correct answer. For about 50% of the questions I was able to narrow it down to two possible answers but I didn't know which of the two was correct. Because of this you'll leave feeling like you failed.
The Barbri questions didn't resemble the actual questions. The actual questions were shorter than barbri's. I thought the actual questions were more clearly written and easier to read.
Most people say that the OPE 3 exam on the NCBE's website is an accurate prediction of your performance on the MBE. My state doesn't tell you your score if you pass, so I can't say whether my predicted score was accurate.

I thought it was worth it. I did it about a week before the exam and it predicted a high score so it calmed me a little and allowed me to focus on essay stuff for the final few days.
