I'm currently in an SA position in biglaw, secondary market. I've got two questions:

1) Would be interested in trying to trade up to a major market? Should I mass mail as a 3L?

2) Am also worried about possible no-offer. Should I still be trying to interview during that time between when my SA position ends and I'm waiting to hear whether they give me an offer?

I know 3L hiring is basically non-existent, but I don't want to short myself or screw myself somehow. So, what should I do? Twiddle my thumbs through August or mass mail?

Dude, you're doing that now. You're at that firm for at least a year.

Stop being a striver and start doing the work.

So when my summer ends and I'm waiting to hear if I got an offer, I should just do nothing?

IF they are going to no-offer you nothing you do can stop it.

IF they are going to offer you then sending out resumes won't suddenly make them change their mind.

You need to look out for yourself.
