Is he the "smartest" man currently on the court? Probably not.
Is he bottom third? I highly doubt it.
But MAFs will continue to think he's dumb because (1) he's black, and (2) he doesn't like to write long, florid, intricate dissents like Scalia et al when he can just get to the fucking point and say what he thinks and move on. Typical that pseudo-intellectuals would mistake principled bare-bones minimalism for lack of ability. |

And maybe Ginsburg and possibly Kagan (I think it's too early to really tell with the latter, although everyone seems to be rushing to lap at her cunt ITT)
Which would put him squarely in the middle of the court for intelligence.
He is, of course, at the very top of the list when it comes to being principled and intellectually honest and consistent in his jurisprudence. |

Thomas is my favorite justice and I respect him more than any other justice. He is the most intellectually honest by far. However, I don't believe he is smarter than those I listed ahead of him.

I think his personal values and worldview are scary but I would trust him more than any other Justice to write an opinion that actually decides the hard issue. |
