What kind of corporate work do you do? You can try to go to a smaller boutique/midlaw firm, compliance department, or lateral to another firm. What is it is about BigLaw (or your current employer) that you dislike? Have you paid off your debt?
I made the move to boutique law firm, and it has been better for me. It does no pay what others on here say is boutique or midlaw salary (about $110K salary and about $10K bonus), but I live in a low col area and the hours are better than BigLaw. Also, i paid off my entire debt and saved up a bit of cash from BigLaw. If you are in a similar situation, this may be somethign you want to consider.

I have a friend who works 'compliance' for Goldman but does not have a law degree - how common is this?
Does this person have any legitimate chance of internally lateraling to a different department?
